What is the RCM turbonormalizer?

Well let me tell you. I just flew back from Big
Piney yesterday with the new turbo and WHAT A DIFFERENCE!! It is a completely
different airplane.
My first flight from BPI (elevation 8990'), Robin (owner of RCM) instructed me to hold the
brakes and bring up 26" at 2700. I could not hold the airplane ... could not believe I was
developing this much power. Flying out to BPI, I was barely over 20" climbing at about
200 FPM and REAL concerned about slamming into the mountains.
Now, at ONLY 11,500', I could still climb at 6-700 FPM, was cruising at 175k GS
(granted, a nice tailwind), indicated 130k (not sure of TAS) at 2450 RPM and 25" burning
12 GPH. All temperatures were actually cooler then before...an indication this STC may
actually improve reliability and TBO.
I was seriously considering trading up to a 114 this summer due to my particular
performance requirements...not anymore.
As you can see, I am very happy with this modification...and encourage anyone
considering it...do it!!!
